RED WING STOCKHOLM

RED WING STOCKHOLM

The store is the 9th official in Europe. The design koncept for the Stockholm store was created together with the owners and the Red Wing european headquarter in Holland. Some of the details are specially designed for this store, for example the hand painted sign was designed by Bunker Hill and produced by the Swedish company Sthlm signs.

The owners behind Red Wing Stockholm are Per Nordahl, Roger Sundström and Anna-Karin Starnberg. Per and A-K are also the owners of store Sivletto in Stockholm which has been a success story since the start in 2005.

BLOMKVIST APT

BLOMKVIST APT

The apartment was originally made for one person with a mid range budget and a total freedom for the architect to do almost whatever he wanted. Because of the use of cheap material the focus could be in all details. The interior is custom made by the carpenters. One lamp, the kitchen table and chair was designed especially for this project. The main material used is pine plywood. In the library and the sleeping/dressing room a natural sisal carpet was used. The wall in the kitchen is covered in marble. In the big living room an elevated space was built beside the sofa, this space is used as an extension of the small balcony. In the sleeping room the floor was also elevated in line with the window, so when lying in bed the view of the sky can be seen.

MR MUDD AND MR GOLD

MR MUDD AND MR GOLD

The concept for the store was developed together with the two owners of the store.
Most of the brands at the store has never been shown in Stockholm.
All of the interior are specially designed for the store and with a tight budget,
so one important thing was that theowners themself could build all the furnitures with simple machines.
The lamps are made out of standard paper tubes with a thin layer of veneer and the rest of the furniture
are also made out of standard pine wood normally used for building houses.
Two tables from Enzo Maris "autoprogettazione" project was also used.

TRADITION

TRADITION

The brief for the project was simple, the interior should reflect the idea of the restaurant, to serve well cooked but affordable traditional Swedish food. The whole interior including furnitures and lamps are made out of birch lightly painted white in several different shades. Details such as the bar, candlesticks and lampshades are made out of brass.

The criteria for the small space was not to become a traditional compact living apartment with things coming out of the wall. It was imprtant that all functions had the natural place and that they would work as in a bigger apartment. The space has a fully equipt kitchen, a table for 8-10 people dining and a bed for two persons above. The total area is only 11m2. Designed and built in 2002.
