Alfhild Agrell 1849-1923

Alfhild Teresia Agrell was a central figure in the Swedish literature of the Modern Breakthrough and in the cultural circles of Stockholm in the 1880s. Alfhild Agrell grew up in Härnösand, the daughter of a confectioner, and divorced her husband, the merchant P. A. Agrell, in 1895. She was witty and sociable and belonged to the clique associated with the group of writers and artists known as Unga Sverige (Young Sweden). She was a member of Drägtereformföreningen (The Association for the Reformed Dress) and of Nya Idun (a women’s debate society). In 1885, she was one of the first women to be elected to Publicistklubben (The Publicists’ Club).

A total of 365 films were supposed to be made. The wallpaper to the right is an interpratation from a picture of Afhild sitting by her desk in one of her apartments in Stockholm. On the back there are references from the films and also a picture showing the view from backstage of Dramaten in Stockholm. The sculpture is made of metal with printed images and a video monitor for outdoor use.

Alfhild was here

Alfhild was here

When Alfhild was young she lived in Härnösand. I imagen she could have done this if she was living now. She had the courage and now it´s important that her name never will be forgotten.

Painted laser cut metal on the top of a roof above Stora Torget.

Bush for God

Bush for God

Furniture / art project for solo exhibition at Konstfack 1999.
The chair took inspiration from traditional Swedish chairs and the American electric chair. Originally the chair was electrified with hand cuffs as a protest against the governor of Texas, George W. Bush. Under his leadership, Texas executed 152 prisoners, more than any previous governor in modern American history.

EUROPALLET

EUROPALLET

Originally designed for the store Mr Mudd and Mr Gold in 2008.
The idea was to make a perfect Euro pallet, made out of the finest pine wood. Normally this is a cheap transportation product that most people just don´t care about, but when you make it perfect it´s a beautiful piece of art.

Price on demand.
